Macía - Majorcan estate of approx. 500.000 sqm. situated in the Tramontana Mountains, 2 Km. from Esporlas and 14 Km. from Palma.
Manor house built in 1.626, well preserved, situated on a hill, overlooking two valleys with marvellous views and about 500 metres above sea level.
Defence tower, chapel, large typical Mallorcan courtyard (claste) surrounded by buildings, tafona (oil mill), chapel and other outbuildings, with a fountain in the centre of the courtyard.
Approx. 2.000 m2 of construction, four cisterns with a total capacity of 800 m3, heating in the main floor and possibility for the rest of the house, tennis court, swimming pool, gardens, fruit trees, olive trees, carob trees and holm oak and pine forest.
On the estate you can hunt as there is wild fauna, as well as a peculiar hermitage situated at 580 metres above sea level, in this special forest, surrounded by a captivating holm oak forest, the hermitage is a place of worship.
The sanctuary is dedicated to the Virgen del Carmen, since it was founded in 1890 by Carmelite monks, after Margalida Rosselló, owner of the estate, died in 1888 and made it very clear in her will that she wanted to bequeath part of her forest to a group of hermits.
The religious community was always very small and the hermit activity only lasted 36 years.
